INTRODUCING: LOUIS BRAAM - KEYBOARDS

Anyone who knows Kate's music knows the songs are complicated and piano and keyboards play a prominent role. Since we are a tribute band and not the original artist, we can't travel with a large band. This means we have to have a very good and versatile keyboard player who loves a challenge. After the departure of our old keyboard player, we have decided to bring back my keyboard player from a couple of years ago back in Holland: Louis Braam.

Louis is the youngest in our troupe of gypsies, though by now he and I go back years. We have performed an acoustic set at the Dutch release party of Kate's Director's Cut album in 2011, and he has taught me the piano parts of The Man With The Child In His Eyes and And Dream Of Sheep for my first show in Liverpool. We have stayed in touch over the years, and he had a front row seat in our audience at the Royal Carré Theatre in Amsterdam last year. This means he knew and understood what the show is all about (it's not just a regular band playing a couple of songs) before he stepped into our rehearsal room, which made putting a show together a lot easier for us.

His skills as a musician aside, Louis is easy going and has a good sense of humour, which is a good thing in a project that is well... as crazy as ours.

Louis is really a good guy, he played several times as a substitute and as second keyboardplayer in our band Blue Velvet en we got to know him as a charming person with a good sense of humour! Louis, brake a leg with this tour!!
